How to add VAT to the prices in a product feed

A rule with Calculate: take price, multiply by 1.21 for 21% VAT, then round to 2 digits. Every product gets its price with VAT; your store is untouched.

Google Shopping and most marketplaces in the EU want the price a shopper pays, VAT included. If your store exports prices without VAT, fix it in the feed.

  1. Open the data source, go to Rules and create a new rule - for example “Price with VAT”.
  2. Leave Conditions empty to change every product (or limit it, for example to one country's products).
  3. Under then pick the field price, choose Calculate and set it to take price, multiply by 1.21.
  4. Add a second rule for price with Round number and Number of digits after comma 2, so 82.6446 becomes 82.64.
  5. Check the result in Changes preview, then Save Rule. Do the same for sale_price if you use it.

Example

  • Before: price 68.30
  • After multiply by 1.21: 82.643
  • After Round number (2): 82.64
Other rates: 1.19 for 19%, 1.20 for 20%, 1.25 for 25%. Rules run top to bottom, so keep the VAT rule above the rounding rule.
